The tribulations of recent months have extracted a heavy toll,
The despair.. the grief.. the rage,
It has corroded my mind, my body and my soul,
Forging ahead with determination, I seek to turn a new page,
Down this lonesome road I roll,
With no choice but to move on, thus begins a new age.
All the Mothers in my life have past,
Their spirits no longer bound to earth,
The canyon of my sorrow is deep and vast,
With death must come new rebirth,
Not the first loss... certainly not the last,
Its tragic that only in loss do we realize what life's really worth.
I search for purpose, I search for hope,
Looking for blue... beyond the gray,
Trying not to reach the end of my rope,
A closed heart is not the way,
Stay busy and you have no time to mope,
Just remember, tomorrow's always a brand new day.
It can be beautiful, this thing called life,
Sometimes it can seem as if you have it all,
Just remember... it all hangs at the edge of a knife,
The higher you go, the farther you have to fall,
In an instant happiness can become pain.. and strife,
Its amazing how life can change, with just one phone call.
